PA Department of Human Services:
Murphy’s Giving Market has received its biggest contribution to date
with grants awarded through the PA Department of Human Services and the
Community Development Block Grant. These grants come from state and
local government respectively to support nonprofits doing valuable work
in the community. Murphy’s Giving Market learned of the grant
opportunities last summer from the office of State Senator Tim Kearney
and the office of the Upper Darby Chief Administrative Officer, and we
were thrilled to be approved this spring. With funding now coming in,
Murphy’s Giving Market is strengthening operations and ensuring
continued access to fresh, healthy, and culturally appropriate food for
families facing food insecurity in Upper Darby. Many thanks to Sen
Kearney and staff, to the office of the Upper Darby CAO, and to all the
people who worked on these grant applications.
